Lastly, your Archetype gives you a number of Talents - usually, 1 or 2 that are set as Core Talents, and then a number of Talents you can select from a list of possible choices. XP costs to raise Skills (or Attributes) gets higher the better you get - so while it's only 1 XP to get Training (1) or Focus (1), getting Focus (2) or Training (2) costs more, and the third costs more than that. You begin the game with Training (1) and Focus (1) in your ARchetype's Core Skill, plus an amount of XP to spend on Skill Training and Focus that varies by archetype, with a limited list of skills you can spend it on in most cases. Each level of Focus in a skill lets you, after you roll, increase the value of a single die by 1. Each level of Training in a skill gives another die to rolls involving that skill. By default, skills are either Untrained (you sank no points in and just roll your attribute) or have up to 3 levels in Training and/or Focus. Your Archetype also determines your skill training. If you, say, want to be a punch wizard instead of a soul wizard, you might take a wizard archetype and keep their high Mind but swap Body and Soul. Once your Archetype assigns you them, you can select any two of your Attributes and swap their values if you want to. When you make a roll, your base dicepool is d6s equal to your relevant Attribute. It is important for divine casters, and also contributes to Mettle score (which is spent on some Miracles or to get extra combat actions). Soul represents your inner spirit, determination, sense of self and resistance to Chaos. Mind contributes to Accuracy score (which determines ranged combat accuracy), Initiative score (turn order) and Natural Awareness score (passive perception). Mind represents your intellect, awareness, perception, reasoning and wit. It also contributes to your Melee score (which determines close combat accuracy) and your Defence score (which determines how hard it is to hit you). A score of 1-2 is "normal person" and they all cap out at 8.īody represents your physical strength, reflexes, coordination and body awareness. They are the main things you're rolling, and by default, they are determined by your Archetype unless you went for point buy and are buying them directly. You have three main attributes in Soulbound Body, Mind and Soul. The 'too many charms' problem is the same, but that's not what people were pointing to. I'm just saying that it's changed what kind of big crunchy mess it is in a pretty significant way, since what people pointed to as issues were 'too much ineffectual verisimilitude' and 'the storyteller system falls apart' - the new problems are pretty different like Craft being cookie clicker, too many subsystems, etc. You'll find the third Tome at the far side behind some bushes.I'm not arguing Exalted 3e isn't a big crunchy mess, it is. You'll see some branches of a tree pointing your way, jump onto them.įrom the tree branches, jump onto a stone pillar in front of you and onto a stone ledge on the other side of the path. Just before leaving the courtyard, turn back. In the Grunewald Lodge Courtyard, make your way up the stairs. Jump on the tree branch, and keep jumping forward. Go up the stairs, turn right, drop down, and follow the path until you see a vine growing into a window. Right as you enter Grunewald Lodge, take the right corridor, and turn right. Take the first left.įollow the path to the second Tome at the end behind some corpses. The first Grimoire is inside a crate at the top.Īfter destroying the Doomwheels and escaping through the gate, you'll enter a forest. When coming up to the battlements, walk around the tower up another flight of stairs to your left. From here you can jump on a earthen ledge next to the stone wall.įollow the path into the tower and up the stairs outside again. Jump onto the fallen tree, then onto the tree stump next to it and finally the flagpole with the red banner. Keep turning right, where you will find the first Tome.īefore the hollow logs leading to the Skaven Encampment, you'll see a stone tower on your right. As you exit the Skaven cave, right before the drop you can jump on the torch to the right.
